Therapy Services
Offering Individual Therapy and EMDR Therapy for adults seeking support with trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and more. Below you’ll find an overview of what to expect and how we can work together.
About Therapy
Session Length & Format
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length. Upon request, 75‑minute sessions may be available. I also offer a complimentary 10–15 minute phone consultation for prospective clients. All sessions are conducted via a HIPAA‑compliant Zoom platform. At the time of your appointment, you must be located in either California or Florida, as those are the states where I am licensed or registered for telehealth. Before your session, I will email you a secure video link to join. Many clients appreciate the convenience of teletherapy and find that they can still build a strong, trusting connection with their therapist.
What to Expect in Therapy
Your first session is an assessment where we explore your current concerns, symptoms, and relevant history. From there, we begin to outline an initial treatment plan together. I believe therapy should feel collaborative and organic, and I will adjust our work as new stressors or priorities arise.
Fees & Insurance
At this time, I am in‑network with Aetna. For all other insurance carriers, I am considered an out‑of‑network provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. My out-of-network fee is $185 and on occasion I am able to offer a sliding scale rate for those who qualify. All major credit cards, including HSA/FSA cards, are accepted for payment.
Individual Therapy
A variety of treatment modalities are available, including Person‑Centered Therapy, Solution‑Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Grief Therapy, and Mindfulness‑Based Therapy. Together, we’ll decide on an approach based on your concerns, symptoms, and what resonates with you. In many cases, an integrative approach is recommended, allowing us to draw from multiple modalities and use the strategies that best support your unique needs.
Specialized Treatment
EMDR Therapy
EMDR Therapy is utilized as a treatment option for those who are struggling to overcome trauma, anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, depression, low self-worth, grief, or disordered eating. "EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR Therapy, people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR Therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. EMDR Therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR Therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes." (courtesy of www.emdr.com).
